I'm going to keep my expectations in check for this one

Star wars: episode ix - the rise of skywalker dvd release date. It is clear from the first 5 minutes of this film that it is going to be a mess. There is basically no exposition in the film, and I think that is possibly its biggest failing creatively of all its many failings. What exposition there is is flat out told to you instead of revealed. That is a really bad way to start a movie, and it suffers for it. The exposition which is explained to you at the start throws in about ten major shifts in the plot within those first five minutes which would be more properly suited for a climax in and of themselves, changing all the stakes and almost completely disconnecting this film from the previous two entries in the trilogy right from the outset. This was not a good creative decision by JJ Abrams, and the film doesn't really recover from that unforced error until about halfway through. The pacing of the film was designed for a hummingbird, with no time to even emotionally respond or absorb what transpires on the screen before we are off to the next bit of convoluted madness. There should have been half as much plot but twice as much time spent with the remaining half and half as many characters but twice as much time spent with the remaining characters. Less is more and show don't tell these are fundamentals of movie-making J. J. Abrams should know at this point in his career. The film is technically sound in a lot of ways. The action is itself very pretty, but without character development there are no stakes. Why should you care what happens? Whether people almost get shot or do get shot or blown up, why should you care if you aren't invested in those people because you know them? The acting isn't that bad, but there was very little acting demanded given the lack of narrative and character development. This is the worst Star Wars movie that has ever been made, in my opinion. It is worse than Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. At least that movie had a cognizable narrative, even though it was a terrible and boring narrative. The acting is better in this movie than some of the characters in that movie, but that is the only thing that is better. This movie was bad in a way that makes the previous movies worse. I wish I had not seen it.

I just want to see how they did the part where lando says” But Poe we have more” then all those star ships appear. Completely forgot how underrated the story of story is, its truly amazing. When half your trailer is just clips from better films

Lightsaber lighting up at the end made me cry. Star Wars fans are the most critical and hard to please.
So am I! However, I am very happy after watching the movie in 3D IMAX.
Effects & soundtrack is awesome as always.
Yes, it felt kinda rushed, felt there should be more on the development of the new characters.
Nevertheless, it's definitely NOT a bad movie at all! It doesn't deserve a
ridiculous 1/10!
Whatever negative reviews that you have read or heard, don't bring it with you when go you watch the movie. See it with an open mind.

Il 12 aprile 2019 è stato rivelato il titolo ufficiale del film: The Rise of Skywalker, in italiano L’ascesa di Skywalker. Di cosa parla Star Wars IX? Per scoprire qualcosa in più riguardo alla trama di Star Wars IX bisogna ripercorrere gli ultimi momenti del film precedente. La Resistenza è particolarmente debole, ma come sempre porta con sé una potentissima speranza. Finn e Rey sono nuovamente insieme, con Poe, Chewbacca, BB-8, Leia e Rose. Tutti hanno un solo obiettivo: riportare la pace alla galassia. Purtroppo il Jedi Luke Skywalker è diventato tutt’uno con la Forza, dopo aver aiutato la Resistenza a fuggire dal Primo Ordine. Dopo Han Solo, un altro dei personaggi storici della saga è scomparso, e probabilmente sarà lo stesso anche per Leila Organa. Infatti, dopo la triste scomparsa dell’attrice Carrie Fisher prima della conclusione delle riprese, non è chiaro cosa succederà al personaggio. A dirigere il film ci sarà J. J. Abrams, che ha dichiarato che non sono state utilizzate grafiche CGI o altre attrici per sostituirla. Infatti pare che le sue scene verranno estrapolate dal materiale non usato nel precedente capitolo. Altre anticipazioni riguardano il Lato Oscuro, Kylo Ren ha sostituito il Leader Supremo Snoke dopo averlo assassinato. Con il Primo Ordine piegato alla sua volontà e una violenta rabbia nei confronti dei Jedi e della Resistenza, ma in particolare di Rey, potrebbe agire in modi sconsiderati e gettare la galassia nell’oscurità. Cast, attori e personaggi di L ascesa di Skywalker Per l’ultimo episodio Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker il cast ufficiale sarà lo stesso due due capitoli precedenti, con qualche nuova aggiunta. Tornerà quindi sul grande schermo Daisy Ridley nei panni della protagonista Rey, affiancata da John Boyega, Finn, e Oscar Isaac, Poe Dameron. Insieme a loro anche i veterani di Guerre Stellari faranno il loro ritorno. Benché purtroppo Carrie Fisher sia venuta a mancare prima di concludere le riprese del nono capitolo, il generale Leia Organa tornerà per un’ultima volta. Anche il fratello Luke Skywalker, interpretato da Mark Hamill, sebbene scomparso ne Gli ultimi Jedi, tornerà nell’ultimo capitolo, come riporta Deadline. Ma ecco una lista del cast di Star Wars IX e dei rispettivi personaggi: Adam Driver è Ben Solo / Kylo Ren, nipote di Darth Vader e capo del Primo Ordine; Domhnall Gleeson è il generale Hux, secondo di Kylo Ren; Lupita Nyon’go è Maz Kanata; Kelly Marie Tran è Rose Tico, tecnica della Resistenza; Billie Lourd, figlia di Carrie Fisher e protagonista di Scream Queens, è l’ufficiale della Resistenza Connix; Joonas Suotamo è l’attore sotto la pelliccia di Chewbacca; Anthony Daniels è la voce di C-3PO; Naomi Ackie Richard E. Grant Keri Russell Dominic Monaghan, da Lost e Il Signore degli Anelli, sarà un personaggio non ancora rivelato; Brian Herring muoverà il tenero droide BB-8; Jimmy Vee muoverà il droide R2-D2; Greg Grunberg è Temmin “Snap” Wexley. Si tratta della padawan di Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, protagonista della serie animata Clone Wars. Il regista infatti, come riporta Comicbook, avrebbe parlato a Sora News, chiedendo il personaggio preferito dell’intervistatrice. Quando la sua risposta è stata appunto Ahsoka, Abrams ha risposto così: “Ahsoka, eh? Allora dovrai guardare con attenzione L’ascesa di Skywalker”.
